Who knows what in the world you'll find here? Most likely thoughts about advertising, social media or sports - I have an unhealthy obsession with the Boston Red Sox and college football dominates my entire fall season (Go Noles!) I also love to travel. Between all of these things and my shopping obsession....who knows what will end up here!

Love this team.

We’re back and we’re safe! Fortunately, Boston avoided the worst parts of Hurricane Sandy. To fight off cabin fever while we holed up indoors, we decided to make a seasonally appropriate ice cream from The Kitchen Sink.

Oh my Gog. I usually laugh at all of the things on this site, but this made me gasp. I would have cried, too!

I didn’t want my Mom to go to work….so I chewed up her Louis Vuitton bag, and made her cry.

Like everyone else, I find the shootings in Colorado a senseless tragedy. I was shocked to turn on the news when I woke up and hear of such violence and was immediately saddened, thinking of the families who will never see loved ones again just because they went to the movies.

Then I started seeing twitter posts and links about Jessica Redfield. This tragedy now had a face for me. This young woman reminded me so much of the many friends I have made on twitter. Sports lovers and social media addicts, bonding over the sports we love while being scattered across the country.I just had to cry as I watched this video. This young woman with such a bright future ahead of her. Gone.

May she rest in peace, and may all of the people she left behind both in real life and in the twitterverse find some comfort in the days and weeks to come.

I was shown how fragile life was on Saturday. I saw the terror on bystanders’ faces. I saw the victims of a senseless crime. I saw lives change. I was reminded that we don’t know when or where our time on Earth will end. When or where we will breathe our last breath. For one man, it was in the middle of a busy food court on a Saturday evening.

I say all the time that every moment we have to live our life is a blessing. So often I have found myself taking it for granted. Every hug from a family member. Every laugh we share with friends. Even the times of solitude are all blessings. Every second of every day is a gift. After Saturday evening, I know I truly understand how blessed I am for each second I am given.

I feel like I am overreacting about what I experienced. But I can’t help but be thankful for whatever caused me to make the choices that I made that day. My mind keeps replaying what I saw over in my head. I hope the victims make a full recovery. I wish I could shake this odd feeling from my chest. The feeling that’s reminding me how blessed I am. The same feeling that made me leave the Eaton Center. The feeling that may have potentially saved my life.

— Jessica Redfield (real last name: Ghawi) was shot and killed last night at a midnight screening of ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ along with 11 others when a gunman opened fire in a theater. The above is from her blog, written in June, after she narrowly escaped another senseless shooting at a mall in Toronto. (via newsweek)
